Another hot day in Hampton Roads

NORFOLK — The extreme heat is causing some problems with air quality in Hampton Roads. The Va. Department of Environmental Quality issued a Code Orange air quality alert to be in effect until 8:00 p.m. Tuesday. To ease pressures on the Chesapeake Bay’s blue crab population, Virginia is paying watermen to stay out of the water, using $6.7 million in federal disaster aid to buy back crabbing licenses.

Restrictions in place as nor’easter moves into Hampton Roads (WTKR Norfolk)

The Virginia Beach Department of Emergency Medical Services is asking people to not go body or wind surfing during this storm. They say the conditions are not safe and are asking people to stay out of the water.
